And then suddenly, I’m thriving once more!
That’s exactly what it felt like after a relatively brief winter of the soul, which I described in my post “Back on the road”. And although this period was possibly just the process of transition, and the result of an accumulation of stressors, the point being, is that it doesn’t take much throughout the course of just living life, that one can be knocked of kilter, and thrown out of inner peace, present moment awareness and flow.
The transition between seasons often comes without introduction. One day, a light turns on, and suddenly, I realise, I’m no longer struggling, forcing and resisting. I’m magically here, back in the flow, and enjoying the juicy fruits of summer, graced with the feelings of joy, wonder, presence and inspiration once more.
That random flash of awareness, previously hidden from view, seems to find its way to me while in nature. The other day for instance, while on a morning stroll, hand in hand with my husband, and by the ocean, I stopped to admire the million little sun diamonds, reaching out to meet me. As they danced on the surface, and the preciousness of that moment swelled gratitude within, the realisation hit me. I am once again flowing gently along in the slipstream of life, and the struggle and resistance of the months prior, have been left behind, in place of blissful, peaceful and welcomed presence.
In the light of a brand new day, enjoying van life once again, and waking up early after a restful sleep, feeling happy, joyful and excited for the chance to discover another new adventure. Feeling stoked to enjoy the next step on my Wackywanderbus journey, now that the process of day to day life has once again been restored to a seamless fine art, and doesn’t take the same amount of mental energy it previously did. My comfort zone has miraculously expanded to accommodate the changes required to thrive and enjoy this simplistic lifestyle.
My meditation and mantra practice is once again watering my inner garden, and setting me up for a peaceful, present, intentional and fulfilling day. I’ve been enjoying long walks in Mother Nature to uplift my mood, move my body and replenish oxygen saturation. My senses are alive with her scents, sounds, beauty and blessings, and bring me into a place of stillness and grateful contemplation. My thoughts are entered into my journal when the feeling arises, and I’m finding a nice balance between creative pursuits and study commitments, which feels enjoyable and productive.
It always intrigues me how being in spirit won’t be forced, and I feel most alive and content when creativity comes to me with ease and grace. There is no point trying to force it, and I have come to trust that when it escapes me, it’s my cue to just focus on emotional work and reframing faith. Finding acceptance, and trusting the process of life, is the only way to move forward and through, times of uncertainty and dis-ease.
Life has a mysterious way of flipping the coin of polarity, in a way that moves time gently forward, until you eventually discover, you’ve got your mojo back, and can breath deeply once more. So, each time you return to flow, know that resilience has been built, and your growth has bounced you back from adversity, in ways that are valuable and transformative.
It makes me so darn appreciative and grateful that nothing ever stays the same for long, and that change is indeed inevitable!
Thanks for reading.

I love this so much! I, too, just came through my winter. I think that's why I'm so enthusiastic & positive now. Because I'm finally out of that depressing season of my life. I feel renewed. And purposeful. I love your writing. It hits the soul.
I wish I'd have read 'back on the road' first - 🙃 anyways.
What I enjoyed about this piece was how it captures the shift from t surviving to suddenly feeling alive again. The line about the seasons changing “without introduction” was clever, because in my experience emotional transitions can happen like that.
I liked the honesty around not being able to force creativity or flow - it gaves a human feel and authencity to it. The ocean and “sun diamonds” tied the whole reflection together.
prob should go back now and read teh first piece.
