Have you ever experienced the excitement of finally realising a long-awaited goal, dream or aspiration? Felt the anticipation of taking a deep dive into the unknown? Surrendered and just followed your intuition and the universe’s subtle guidance?

I’m thrilled to share that this is my current reality, and ultimately the reason this Substack publication has come to fruition. Let me explain.

Five years ago, I decided it was time to stop procrastinating and begin seriously planning the travel dream I’ve glimpsed since I was a child. I had no idea how I was ever going to make this dream a reality, though I trusted completely in my power to co-create with the universe. For some time, I had felt a Devine calling and knew it could no longer be denied. To be completely honest, I was full of fear, had a very complicated life situation, was utterly paralysed by the dreaded comfort zone, lacked financial security and self-confidence.

My determined self, went out and purchased a colourful journal and began defining my why. I gave my intention a name, and Wackywanderbus was borne. This interesting name came about because of my playful sense of humour and authentic way of viewing the world. I have always been someone who finds joy and happiness through self-amusement and the thought of wandering around Australia in a campervan, having endless wacky adventures and learning more about myself, and life in general, filled me with great excitement and wondrous anticipation. After a deeply spiritual meditation, I made a rough pencil drawing that represented my colourful inner vision. I then presented this to a graphic artist who designed a professional image which became a magnetic vision board of sorts. I had a few made and hung them in various locations around my home, on my desk at work and in my car. Included in this image are three of my favourite core values, along with key elements that are symbolically associated with my journey. They evoked a real visceral response within me which enabled me to work with positive psychoemotional tools such as imagery, meditation and journaling, to manifest my most desired reality. I put a great deal of time and energy into preparing myself and challenged my conditioned limitations in order to move more confidently toward my goals, and to bring this dream into fruition.

At that time, I was completely stuck in a rut and my life felt mundane and stale. Having been born, raised, had a family of my own and worked the same career, all in the same area, it was definitely time for me to fear regret, challenge myself, grow, and take affirmative action towards the life I wanted. Between then and now, a great deal of life changing events have transpired. I saved enough money to purchase my campervan, fit it out and went on a few practice trips and adventures. I met the love of my life, lost my nursing career due to COVID, changed careers, worked on a cattle station, became a grandmother twice and got married.

Fast forward to March of this year, 2025, when I finally realised my Wackywanderbus adventure full time, and my husband and I have spent the past nine months travelling down the East Coast of Australia exploring this vast and picturesque country. During this precious time, I have honoured my need to literally just be. I have slowed down, stopped and reflected on my life. I have spent unforgettable hours in communion with our Great Earth Mother and listened to the sounds of silence, the Universe and my inner knowing. With gratitude, I have rediscovered my inner calling to creative self-expression, and have enjoyed photography, drawing and writing. I found myself completing a poetic memoir and have since continued to write, as my creative energy graces me with abundant words and ideas.

There are many reasons I have undertaken to publish here on Substack, and I will continue to share those with you, along with more personal insights, ideas and experiences moving forward. For now, I just wanted to introduce Wackywanderbus and myself, as this adventure continues to grow and evolve.

As far as the all things IT, I have minimal skill, and will be learning along the way, so please bear with me.

I invite you to join me on this journey into the vast unknown. I trust it will be magical!
